There is perhaps no better month to be in Austin than November. It’s not just the generally awesome weather. It’s not just the huge lineup of popular events. It’s not just the hype of high school and college football seasons catching their stride.
It’s an amazing combination of all those things. From beautiful morning strolls to parties that last all night, November is a beautiful time of year in Austin and there’s plenty to do. So, let’s dive into some of the city’s top events this month.
November 1: Texas Monthly BBQ Festival
The writers at Texas Monthly magazine put a whole lot of effort into finding the best barbeque our huge state has to offer. And, it’s not all about Lockhart. Their annual festival, in its sixth year, corrales the smokey goodness and zesty sauces of some of Texas’ best pitmasters. In the end, there’s a winner — and it will probably be your belly. T

November 6-8: Fun Fun Fun Fest
What happens when you mix some old school favorites with some up-and-comers? You get a lot of fun. This festival has been running strong for years and is a favorite among the 21-40 crowd, which is a pretty big cross section. Jane’s Addiction and Wu-Tang Clan are among the big names. But there’s wrestling, comedy, extreme sports and plenty of food and drinks to keep almost anyone busy.
When: Noon on Thursday, Nov. 6, until late night Sunday

November 7-9: Austin Celtic Festival
Revive the Celtic traditions with the whole family. This one is packed with games, food, drinks, dancing and, of course, a lot Celtic music.
